Marcon named Blues’ best

Published on Tuesday, October 16, 2012

20-year-old Marcon edged out fellow former Northern Knights teammate Kane Lambert by five votes for the award, with Carlton-listed midfielder David Ellard rounding out the top three.

Marcon was one of two Blues to be named in the 2012 Peter Jackson VFL Team of the Year, along with 2010 Frank Rosbrook medallist and West Preston-Lakeside premiership ruckman Nick Meese.

Both Marcon and Lambert are past winners of the Northern Knights best and fairest award, with five of the Northern Blues’ top 10 placegetters former Knights representatives.
