2013 junior representative player information

Published on Monday, February 4, 2013

The Northern Football League will field the following junior representative squads in 2013:

Under-13: 48 players to be selected
Under-14 (2 squads): 52 players (26 in each squad) to be selected
Under-15 (2 squads): 52 players (26 in each squad) to be selected
Youth Girls: 26 players to be selected
Under-16: 24 players to be selected

There are a number of responsibilities and expectations that go with training and representing the NFL at junior representative level. If you cannot fully commit to meeting all of the following responsibilities and expectations, please do not attend training.

– The coaching panel of each age group will select the final squad/s based on a number of factors (e.g. form at club level, squad balance and training performance, attitude and attendance). Selection is a very competitive process and unfortunately not all players invited to train will make the final squad/s. Squad list cuts will be made at various stages of the program, and an amended training squad will be published on the NFL website. If you miss out on making the final squad/s please respect the coaches’ decision.

– Only those players named on the NFL website are to attend training.

– You must be available to play in all matches and plan to attend all training sessions. If you are unable to attend training, you must contact your NFL coach to notify them of your absence.

– If you have been selected in the final squad but are not selected for one of the squad’s matches (e.g. maximum of 24 players selected for each match) you are expected to assist your team on game day.

– Please wear your club jumper to every training session; this will assist coaches in identifying you. You must also ensure you bring runners and drink bottle to every training session.

– Each player selected in the FINAL squad will receive an NFL jacket and playing apparel (jumper, shorts and socks).

– The main source of communication regarding the NFL Representative Program will be the NFL website so please ensure that you check it regularly (e.g. training venue and times)
