Greensborough and Montmorency played out an exciting shootout in Division 1. The sides shared 41 goals in front of a huge crowd on hand to watch former Sydney Swans forward Michael O’Loughlin.
Division 2 produced two thrillers with both the Lalor v Mernda and Hurstbridge v North Heidelberg games going right down to the wire. There was also a top of the table clash between Diamond Creek and Whittlesea.
Thomastown hosted Watsonia in a crucial top-four clash in Division 3 where both sides needed to win to boost their hopes of a double chance in the finals.
